Day 1: Istanbul
This afternoon begin exploring the historic streets and dramatic backdrop of Istanbul with your expert guide. Take a leisurely stroll on Istiklal Street, filled with designer stores and some of Istanbul’s top galleries.
Day 2: Istanbul
Highlights of your day: the 6th century Hagia Sophia, whose second floor showcases spectacular Byzantine mosaics up close, the Blue Mosque, the Museum of Mosaics, the Hippodrome, the underground cistern and Grand Bazaar.
Day 3: Istanbul
Highlights of your day: Topkapi Palace and the Treasury Museum, Museum of the Ancient Orient and the Archaeological Museum, which includes the celebrated Alexander Sarcophagus.
Late this afternoon embark on a luxury private cruise up the Bosphorus, with Europe on your left and Asia on your right, as you celebrate this historic city in style.
Day 4: Istanbul
Cross the Bosphorus and explore Asian Istanbul.
Highlights of your day: Beylerbeyi Palace with its magnificent gardens, the modern (and award-winning) Sakirin Mosque and cosmopolitan neighborhood of Kadikoy.
Day 5: Cappadocia
Fly to Cappadocia.
For the next few days, you will be immersed in a stunningly photogenic world. Explore monastic cave churches, some dating to the 3rd century, where the frescoes are often remarkably intact.
Highlights of your morning: Goreme Valley and the restored “Dark Church,” the natural citadel of Uchisar and the village of Avanos, set on the banks of the Kizilirmak (Red River).
An afternoon hike (intensity up to you) through the stunning Ihlara Valley will allow you the chance to explore the rock-carved landscape up close and personal.
Day 6: Cappadocia
Watch the sun rise as you soar through the skies from your perch on a hot air balloon adventure (optional).
Highlights of your day: the small villages of Sinasos and Sognali, the vast underground city of Kaymakli and Pasabag Valley.
This afternoon set out on a mountain biking expedition through the celestial landscapes of the Red Valley.
Day 7: Izmir/Ephesus/Sirince
Fly to Izmir.
Explore ancient Ephesus, the former Greek (and Roman) metropolis, whose renowned ruins are among the most extensive in the world. In its heyday, Ephesus rivaled Rome in its splendor.
Highlights of your day: the Celsus Library, Ephesus Museum, Terrace Houses, House of the Virgin Mary and The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Your day ends at one of our favorite Turkish villages.
Day 8: Alacati
Head to the Aegean beach town of Alacati, renowned for the numerous hundred-year old white stone houses and also has many interesting shops and cafes.
Spend the afternoon poolside, beachside or strolling through the seaside markets.
Day 9: Alacati
This morning find your inner balance with a private windsurfing lesson. The calm and shallow waters, mixed with the steady winds, make Alacati a windsurfers paradise.
In the afternoon you will board your private seaplane for a short flight to Bodrum.
Day 10: Bodrum
Day at leisure to relax at the pool or seaside at your hotel. A different Bodrum comes alive at night, and we’ll lead you to best spots for music, entertainment and dining.
Day 11: Gocek
Depart Bodrum for your drive along the magnificent Turquoise Coast.
Highlights of your day: travel by boat in the Dalyan Delta, to the ruins of Caunos, the 5th century Palaestra Church (the oldest in Antatolia), Ekincik (a beautiful stretch of unspoiled coastline) and the city of Gocek at the foot of the Taurus Mountains.
Day 12: Kas
Depart Gocek for your drive to the Kas.
Highlights of your day: Oludeniz, known as the “Turkish Dead Sea;” the Lycian city of Pinara, etched into the sky-rising cliffs; and Patara with its pristine, 9 kilometer-long (about 5 ½ miles) beach (also a protected marine turtle breeding ground).
Day 13: Antalya
Depart Kas for your drive to the Antalya.
Your first stop is in Demre for a boat cruise along scenic Kekova Bay. The ruins are still visible through the crystal clear waters.
Continue to the beach resort area of Antalya.
Day 14: Antalya
Enjoy a day at leisure, to relax by the pool or to explore Antalya.
Visit the award-winning restoration of the Old Quarter, or book a round at one of Antalya’s distinguished golf courses.
Day 15: Istanbul
Fly to Istanbul.
